Cape Fusion Charity Work
About 2 years ago some colleagues and I were asked if we would like to make a contribution toward the 'Sisters of Mercy Aids Hospice' (a Mother Theresa organisation), in Khayelitsha - a township just outside Cape Town. We collected about 600 Rand and filled the boot of a car with basic foodstuffs - Millimeal, Samp, Cereal etc. We took the opportunity to meet some of the grateful residents.... but which also proved to be a somewhat harrowing experience. It's the kids that get to you the most, some born with HIV, with parents already dieing from this devastating disease. They literally have nothing from birth, not even their future to look forward to. The sisters do a fantastic job looking after these kids, and others with no place to go, on extremely limited resources and relying on donations. Capefusion.com supports the sisters in their work and pledges 5 Rand to the hospice for every 100 Rand you spend with us.
